We have been working on metric conversions, using a metric conversion chart that shows the relationship between each unit, such as meters, centimeters, millimeters, and kilometers. (Additional units were also reviewed.) Students have had fun using a dry erase marker on their charts to practice moving up (making the unit bigger) and down (making the unit smaller). I have included a graphic of the chart below:
Students took an assessment on metric conversions and did not perform as well on it as they had in our classroom practices. To allow students an opportunity to reflect their true understanding of the concepts, I have created another grade recovery task for students to work on.
While these grade recovery tasks are never mandatory, I strongly encourage all students to complete them as a means of raising their current grades. The grade recovery packet will be distributed to students tomorrow (Friday, 11/8) and is due on Tuesday, November 12.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions/concerns. Thank you!
